Private collections

A lifetime in
twelve boxes

Most of Belgium's music heritage is privately held: photographers with drawers of negatives, fans with complete run of fanzines, musicians with tapes nobody has heard since the mix. MABEL documents these collections where they are, digitises what matters and — when the moment comes — gives them a permanent home.

Access

Everything, eventually searchable

Each item receives a record: what it is, who made it, when, where and why it matters. Those records will power artist pages, photographer pages, exhibitions, research tools and licensing requests as the archive grows.
