MABEL
Belgian punk gig photographed in 1977

Documentary · In production

Bloody Belgium

A feature documentary tracing Belgian punk and everything it set off — built from archive footage, unseen photography and the people who were there.

Behind the scenes

Made inside the archive

The film is being made the same way the book was: by digging. Boxes of negatives, reels of forgotten footage, cassette interviews recorded decades ago and new conversations with the musicians, photographers, promoters and fans who built the scene.

Everything uncovered during production becomes part of the MABEL archive — which means the documentary is not only a film, but an act of preservation.
